My generation had the unfortunate chance to live their childhood and youth between the two inauspicious World wars. In a context of constraints – and fortunately in the absence of TV and phones…- I found comfort in reading: first, naturally, with fairy tales. Soon after came London, Kipling, Conrad as well as Maugham and Pavese. The desire to try writing came at this time. Then, a bit forward, I became a journalist and fate took me all over the world . I saw and experienced situations that deserved to be told and one day, I decided to do it.
